Come and support our biggest fundraising event of the year, our Fun Dog Show at the Leigh Arms in Acton Bridge.

We're back again, thanks to the support of the pub, with a dog show that's the perfect opportunity for your pooch to meet new friends and for some drinks and food at the pub, as well as the chance to win rosettes, trophies, pet hampers of goodies and raise money for our charity. 

There's no need to pre-register, just turn up on the day and put £3 into the bucket as you go into the ring for each class.  We have a card machine if you need it, but cash is preferred as sometimes the machine is temperamental.

New for this year, the lovely Kristal Kweer  will be our compere.  She's a popular drag queen  known for fabulous events around the North West and is giving her time to raise money for our animals for free.

Gates open at 12, then choose your classes:

12:15  Best Dog

12:40  Best Bitch

1:05    Waggiest Tail (evidence required, use of biscuits permitted)

1:30    Golden Oldie (8 years +)

1:50    Best Rescue

2:15    Best Puppy (<18 months)

2:35    Best Trick (use of biscuits positively encouraged!)

3:15    Best in Show - where the winner of each class competes to win Best in Show trophy and Reserve Best in Show.

Something else new for this year, from 3 to 3:15, there will be a firebreathing display from our lovely supporter Donna, who is also giving her time for free.  If you think your dog might not be up for that, there is space to stay away from the display if they need it, don't worry. Donna is one of very few people in the UK who can train others in firebreathing and you can win a session with her through our raffle.

All dogs must be on a lead during the Show.

Our judges are volunteers and might have only ever been to Crufts as paying visitors! Please bear this in mind and remember it's all for a good cause.

As well as the usual refreshments from the pub, we will have some stalls to mooch round:

- tombola

- raffle

- cakes and biscuits

- spin the wheel

The very nice people at Davenham Royal British Legion club are hosting our fabulous prize bingo nights again this year on Wednesdays throughout 2026.

You can win amazing hampers of prizes, there's a raffle and refreshments are available to buy.  It's free entry, opens at 7pm and eyes down at 7:30pm.  We aim to finish around 9:30.

These bingo nights are one of our biggest ways of raising much needed funds for the animals in our care, so your support would be really appreciated.
